Rho began writing this book in November 2002, eleven years after she left her marriage. During the 19 months that it took for the book to be completed, incredibly talented and professional people helped with the editing, proofreading, layout, photography and graphics. Suggestions or pieces of information were given to her—sometimes before she knew she even needed it! Each step of the way found just the right person to help. It has been an exciting process and the book is beautiful and gut wrenching at the same time.

The book contains excerpts from Rho’s journal and brief stories of her life. There is poetry, journal pages for the reader, telephone numbers to call if help is needed and a safety plan. She talks about her faith—how it has carried her and how forgiveness has finally come.

Even the book cover was designed so that it would not threaten the abuser if he/she would see it. The book is 7” x 7” and only 108 pages so it can easily fit into a purse or bag.
