About Rho...

Rho grew up in a loving home and at a young age, knew she wanted Jesus in her heart. It was easy to follow that path while living at home, but when she moved out on her own, she was drawn to a different world. She met a young man who stole her heart and for a very long time, Jesus was pushed to the side. Sprinkled with the joy of having two wonderful children, her 19 year marriage was filled with beatings, humiliation, and shame. She believed she had no value and was without hope. And yet, every once in a while, she would feel this quiet reminder that she did not deserve this and she was not alone.

Rho left that marriage many years ago and it isn’t until recently that she was forced to face the trauma that she had lived. Memories resurfaced after horrible nightmares. Through love and prayer from family and friends, the help of an incredible doctor, and a lot of hard work, Rho sifted through the pain and has finally found peace, hope and surprising forgiveness.

Rho wrote “Under Grandma’s Quilt” because she wishes this for every woman who has endured abuse. It could be a breeze coming through her kitchen window or a quiet walk on a moon lit evening and she is reminded how far God has brought her. She has a second chance at life and desires to bring comfort and hope to others because she understands and she cares.

Rho lives in St. Paul and loves being a mom, a grandma, a sister, a daughter, and a friend. A good cup of coffee, laughter and being called Grandma are three of her most favorite things. Add in a good book, music and curling up under grandma’s quilt and life couldn’t be much sweeter. Her faith has become her cornerstone and she knows that with Christ, all things are possible. Through forgiveness, the chains to her past have been broken and she is finally free.

Rho speaks to groups discussing topics of abuse, abortion, forgiveness, and hope.
